MOLLY DUGGAN ASSOCIATES launches the San Mateo County Health System new public website. The newly designed site has been developed to make it easer for users to navigate the site and easily find the information they need and includes several features that will help to engage the public on important health issues. The San Mateo County Health System is the largest department in the San Mateo County. The new website, www.smchealth.org, offers users a new way to navigate through this information and view current health trends, alerts, updates, and important recommendations on how to prevent diseases before they occur.
“We’re always looking for ways to better serve the public,” said Robyn Thaw, the Health System’s Public Information and Communications Officer. “The launch of our new website is an exciting step toward providing the latest County-specific health information; and the accompanying launch of our Facebook page offers a new way to engage the community in dialogue.”
The new website has new features:
- Multiple search options make it easy to find information, such as How Do I? and Quick Links, with commonly searched and popular topics.
- Health Heroes introduces a new local resident each month who is making a difference in the health of our communities.
- What’s New provides the latest health news and tips on how to keep you, your family and the community healthy, such as avoiding Campylobacter – a leading cause of food poisoning from chicken.
- Mythbusters features a new topic each month, with myths and facts about relevant issues people are talking about, such as this month’s The Truth About Vaccines.
- What’s Your Opinion? is a poll that invites the public to vote and learn about a popular health topic, such as this month’s topic: Is Obesity a Personal or Public Health Issue?
- The new Health System Facebook page, www.facebook.com/smchealth engages the community in a dialogue about the health issues we face and ways to stay healthy as individuals and as a community.
